TL;DR

Pre-Sales Consultant (Virtualization, IBM, HCL Support): Designing and positioning technology solutions that solve complex business challenges with an accent on virtualization technologies across servers, databases, and mainframes. Focus on identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities and developing tailored solution architectures.

Location: Remote (United States). Candidates residing in Hawaii cannot be considered.

Salary: $120,000–$180,000 USD (base salary and bonus).

What you will do

  • Scope and size opportunities, partnering with sales teams and clients to assess requirements.
  • Design and recommend tailored architectures leveraging deep knowledge of virtualization, IBM, and HCL support solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, guiding clients toward optimal solutions and drafting clear Statements of Work (SOWs).
  • Support the sales cycle, identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and collaborate with sales leadership.
  • Define pricing and margins for proposed solutions, balancing profitability with competitiveness.
  • Create and maintain solution collateral, including presentations, case studies, and white papers, to support sales efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in presales or technical sales within the software industry.
  • Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (server, database, and mainframe) and IBM/HCL software support models.
  • Familiarity with ISV ecosystems and integrated solution design.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels with proven sales competencies.
  • Must be based in the United States; candidates in Hawaii cannot be considered.
