Solution Architect (Fintech)

TL;DR

Solution Architect (Fintech): Supporting the design and delivery of client solutions for a SaaS banking platform with an accent on understanding client requirements, technical architecture, and integration. Focus on leading technical discussions, defining localizations, and guiding client engineering teams through complex integrations and platform enhancements.

Location: Hybrid working model with a preference for candidates located within a commutable distance of Toronto, Canada for in-person collaboration. The role involves travel across North America and occasional international travel for initial upskilling in the London office. Work permit or visa sponsorship for Canada is not available.

What you will do

• Explain Engine's technology and architecture, communicating capabilities and value to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Uncover client requirements and support the design of client solutions during sales and delivery phases.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them on integration, best practices, and platform workflows.
• Collaborate closely with Engine Engineering and Product teams to design, build, and deliver new features.
• Lead technical discussions during client discovery, defining necessary localizations and ensuring alignment between technical possibilities and business needs.
• Provide expert guidance to client engineering teams and collaborate with Client Success to troubleshoot technical issues and architect solutions.

Requirements

• Experience in end-to-end software engineering and solution architecture across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Experience with software service design and integration (RESTful APIs, OpenAPI specification, sequence diagrams).
• Experience working in a client-facing role and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills, able to deliver complex messaging to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Must be located within a commutable distance of Toronto, Canada.
• Ability to travel nationally to the London office for initial upskilling and internationally as required by the role.
• Existing work authorization for Canada is required; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Nice to have

• Experience in retail or business banking, core banking, card processing, or payments.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and large-scale cloud applications.
• Experience with AWS or GCP, Microservices, Java, and PostgreSQL.

Hiring process

• Initial chat with the Talent Team.
• First Interview (30-60 minutes) with existing Engine team members.
• Second Architecture Interview (90 minutes), including a small presentation/system design.
• Final Interview (30 minutes).
• Successful candidates are required to pass background checks.
