What you will do
- Contribute to the product process from end-to-end, from ideation to deployment.
- Build intuitive and performant web interfaces for business owners in Africa.
- Implement IT security and data protection best practices in a regulated environment.
- Proactively drive architectural decisions to improve scalability, observability, and modularity.
- Champion code quality through robust testing, documentation, and reviews.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional growth.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of web development, frontend and backend best practices (TypeScript, React, NextJS, NodeJS, Express, PostgreSQL).
- Experience working on VC-backed or high-growth startup engineering projects.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with high pace and ambiguity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical discussions.
- Care about the mission of solving problems faced by African businesses.
- Based in London or Paris.
Nice to have
- Speak French.
- Experience in Fintech, payments, wallets, or building ledgers.
- Expertise in security and data protection best practices in an FCA regulated business.
