What you will do
- Own the Commerce Platforms product vision and roadmap, ensuring it supports customer experience and business priorities.
- Deliver resilient, high-impact capabilities that underpin core customer journeys and commercial outcomes.
- Partner closely with the Squad Lead and Engineers to rebuild and evolve critical systems, ensuring robustness, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Define clear customer and business outcomes by connecting backend services to the experiences they enable.
- Apply strong discovery practices and agile ways of working to deliver value early, learn quickly, and iterate continuously.
- Balance short-term delivery needs with longer-term platform health, making trade-offs explicit and well-communicated.
Requirements
- Proven track record leading cross-functional squads to deliver complex, transformation initiatives in backend, API, and systems-focused domains.
- Strong ability to translate technical concepts into clear outcomes, priorities, and roadmaps aligned with company strategy.
- Deep understanding of how technical capabilities drive customer value and business outcomes.
- A systems-thinking mindset, able to navigate complexity and make sense of interconnected services and dependencies.
- Exceptional communicator who cuts through complexity, brings clarity, and builds alignment across stakeholders with competing priorities.
- Experience shaping and managing product backlogs with appropriate technical context and strong agile practices.
Nice to have
- Experience in start-up or scale-up environments.
- Experience in platform modernisation or transformation programmes in a growing business.
- Exposure to subscription-based services, ideally involving physical product delivery.
- Knowledge of the pet, nutrition, or wellness categories.
