What you will do

• Build and optimise data pipelines and architectures enabling data-driven insights and decision-making.
• Work within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem, using tools like BigQuery, DBT, Apache Kafka, and SQL.
• Design and maintain reliable and scalable data infrastructure, following Agile processes.
• Collaborate closely with data analysts and other engineering teams to ensure efficient data availability.
• Maintain systems to the highest standards, aiming for 24/7 operational support using SRE principles.

Requirements

• Technically minded and skilled with large datasets.
• Experience developing a project from inception to production with well-tested software.
• Proficiency in SQL querying (sophisticated and efficient queries).
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining models, pipelines, and transformations with GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, DBT, Cloud Storage, Apache Kafka).
• Good at scripting in Sql, bash, python, terraform, java.
• Fluent with source control tools like git + github.
• Experience building automated regression tests integrated with CI/CD.
• Good understanding of architecture/Systems thinking with cloud native principles.
