Data Privacy Associate

TL;DR

Data Privacy Associate: Providing considered and practical advice on data privacy matters and supporting the roll out of data governance framework with an accent on compliance with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. Focus on investigating personal data breaches, ensuring privacy by design, and embedding data privacy culture across the business.

Location: Hybrid role in London, requiring office attendance 2-3 days a week. Option to work from abroad for up to 120 days a year, subject to having the right to work in the country of choice.

What you will do

• Provide practical advice on data privacy to various business areas.
• Act as an incident management champion, investigating data breaches and identifying remediation.
• Assist with change programmes, ensuring data privacy risks and privacy by design are considered.
• Embed data privacy culture through training and awareness initiatives.
• Stay updated on legislation and maintain data privacy documentation.
• Work with the Head of Data Governance to manage and monitor personal data instances.

Requirements

• Good understanding of UK data protection laws, including UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective planning, organisation, and time management skills.
• Previous experience in financial services and a data privacy, compliance, or risk function.
• Ability to manage resources and balance task priorities.
• Understanding of customer and employee personal data management in an enterprise environment.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in fintech or a similar regulated environment.
• Industry-recognised data privacy qualification.
• Experience with data governance.
