TL;DR

Failure Analysis Engineer Intern: Troubleshoot device failures and perform basic root cause analysis on customer returned products, isolating issues down to the circuit board or component level. Focus on using electrical testing equipment and engineering principles to identify the root cause of failures and documenting findings for QA and Operations.

Location: This position will report on-site in Irvine, CA. 32 hours a week (Monday-Thursday)

Salary: $22-$25 per hour

hirify.global is looking for a summer intern to join their Failure Analysis Engineering team.

What you will do

• Perform root cause analysis using engineering principles to address challenging issues with products including devices, cables, and sensors.
• Analyze and troubleshoot electronic circuits at the system, module, and component level using circuit schematics and layouts.
• Participate in collaborations with cross-functional teams to recreate intermittent or hard-to-replicate failure modes.
• Document and report significant findings with photographs or samples to appropriate QA and Operations personnel.
• Identify the root cause of customer returned product failures using engineering principles and electrical test equipment.
• Report field failures and customer complaints per the hirify.global Quality System.

Requirements

• 0-1 years of experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical testing and equipment, such as microscopes, digital cameras, calipers, digital multimeters, and oscilloscopes.
• Working knowledge of electrical engineering or related device, circuit board, and component level troubleshooting.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
