Head of Data Science (AI): Leading and developing a high-performing data science team to drive data education and cultural evolution across hirify.global, focusing on designing, scaling, and operationalising robust data science solutions for content optimisation, monetisation, and personalisation. Focus on microservices architecture, solving complex concurrency challenges, and ensuring system reliability under heavy traffic.

Location: Onsite in London, GBR

Salary: £116,000 – £137,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. Plus London Weighting Allowance of £5,441 plus 25% bonus.

What you will do

• Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing data science team, including recruiting and supporting career progression.
• Support the development and delivery of hirify.global’ data strategy in collaboration with senior leaders.
• Champion data science across the organisation, driving engagement and cross-team collaboration.
• Provide deep technical leadership, shaping data science capability through designing and operationalising robust solutions.
• Play a key role within the senior Data leadership team, partnering on strategic direction and technical standards.
• Own the delivery of impactful, production-grade data science applications for various use cases.
• Work closely with Data Platform teams to build and evolve infrastructure and tooling for Data Science at scale.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a data scientist with hands-on delivery of analytical or machine learning solutions.
• Degree in Data Science or a closely related quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics).
• Proven management experience within a data science function, guiding technical delivery.
• Experience hiring and retaining data scientists at all levels.
• Strong technical knowledge to guide teams and assess the feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and shaping the technological foundation for high-quality Data Science solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence a broad range of stakeholders at varying levels.
• Must be based in London, GBR.

Nice to have

• Experience within the media industry.
• Demonstrated ability to deploy positive ROI impact through Data Science projects.
• Masters or PHD in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field; or equivalent experience.
