Member of Technical Staff (AI): Training the world's most capable AI frontier models and developing algorithms, model architectures, and scaling laws for large-scale training with an accent on pushing boundaries of scale, performance, and product deployment. Focus on driving algorithmic implementations, conducting experiments, and overseeing flagship training runs on a large-scale distributed stack.

Location: London, United Kingdom. MAI employees are expected to work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if they live within 25 miles of that location.

What you will do

• Develop algorithms, model architectures, data mixtures, and scaling laws for large-scale training using a rigorous data-driven approach.
• Drive algorithmic implementations, conduct experiments, and oversee flagship training runs on an in-house large-scale distributed stack.
• Collaborate closely with teams on infrastructure, data, post-training, and multimodality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Proven expertise in the area of pretraining.
• Work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if living within 25 miles (non-U.S., country-specific) of London.
