Software Engineer IV (Data Science)

TL;DR

Software Engineer IV (Data Science): Develops high-quality software for mapmaking processes with an accent on building scalable, highly available, and resilient applications. Focus on cloud technologies, programming languages and frameworks, and solving complex technical problems at scale.

Location: Must come to the office two days a week, and the remaining three are free to be worked in either location.

What you will do

• Work with a team of engineers to develop high-quality software.
• Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle.
• Own roadmap epics, and break down functional requirements into technical tasks.
• Build scalable, highly available, and resilient applications by utilizing cloud technologies and programming languages.
• Design technical solutions to solve complex technical problems at scale.
• Mentor more junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

• 7+ year of professional software development experience, with a focus in Python.
• Strong Computer Science and development fundamentals.
• Experience working with data science and engineering pipelines.
• Experience working with at least one major cloud provider, nice to have experience with Azure.
• Proven experience working with native or multi-cloud Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform and ARM.
• Proven experience working with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Experience with geographic information systems.
• Experience with MLOps platforms.
• Experience with Spark engine and Scala programming language.
