TL;DR
Project Manager (Fintech): Responsible for timely and effective delivery of business-related projects and change, with an accent on financial regulation and operational process and systems. Focus on delivering complex business-led change across multiple sites and functions, coordinating resources, and managing risks in a financially regulated environment, including mentoring junior project managers.
Location: Hybrid working, minimum of 60% of your working time per month in the office. For new team members, an initial period will be full-time in the office. Must be based in Manchester, UK.

What you will do
- Manage the delivery of multiple projects and changes, often with a strong emphasis on financial regulation or operational process and systems.
- Deliver complex business-led change across multiple sites and functions, mixing internal Agile development with 3rd party supplier development.
- Establish and maintain effective and trusted relationships with internal Business and IT project stakeholders and external 3rd party suppliers.
- Co-ordinate and drive collaboration of project and change resources.
- Produce and agree project and change scope and optimised delivery plans, and lead/manage teams to these plans.
- Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, plus assess consumer outcome risks.
- Produce and monitor resource forecasts and budgets.
- Mentor junior project managers and new team members.
Requirements
- Ability to quickly understand technical and business topics.
- Use of sound judgement to determine when it is necessary to escalate.
- Experience of delivering in a financially regulated environment is essential.
- Pragmatic approach to delivery of projects and change.
- PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner certification or equivalent (e.g., PMP) is required.
- Experience of multiple project delivery methodologies (e.g., Agile, SDLC, SAFe).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and manage effective relationships, with good business/commercial knowledge.
- Analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, planning and organisational skills, and high attention to detail.
Nice to have
- Experience of Jira and Confluence.
- Financial services industry knowledge (e.g., pensions, investments and stockbroking).
