Product Design Intern

TL;DR

Product Design Intern: Designing end-to-end experiences for a large-scale internet network with an accent on customer discovery, prototyping, and user experience. Focus on distilling complex technical problems into intuitive user experiences and collaborating on product vision.

Location: In-Office in Lisbon, Portugal. Requires working from the Lisbon office 3-5 days a week during the summer (May-Aug).

What you will do

• Demonstrate talent and passion for designing end-to-end experiences.
• Work on a challenging, real-world project within a small group.
• Distill complex problems into approachable steps through customer discovery, sketching, prototyping, and sharing ideas.
• Receive coaching and mentorship from a Product Experience Designer.
• Partner with product managers and engineering leaders on technical tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with other designers on shared patterns, product vision, and design goals.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited school program (undergraduate or graduate) or equivalent training in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related technical field.
• Available for a full-time 12-week internship, working from hirify.global's Lisbon office 3-5 days a week during Summer (May-Aug).
• Product design experience, especially designing technical tools for business.
• Ability to grasp technical domains like internet security and network services.
• Understanding of Design Systems and Accessibility for SaaS products.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience or strong interest in designing experiences that simplify and communicate complex information.
