Senior Applied Scientist (AI): Pioneering research and applying state-of-the-art AIGC and LLM technologies to enhance ad content generation and user experience for a digital advertising platform with an accent on visual content optimization and generation. Focus on optimizing and scaling high-performance, large-volume systems, leading data collection, model training, evaluation, and deployment of advanced image processing algorithms.

Location: Multiple Locations, Taiwan. Employees who live within a 25-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in Taiwan are expected to work from the office at least four days per week, starting January 26, 2026.

What you will do

• Pioneer research and apply state-of-the-art AIGC and VLM technologies to enhance the quality and performance of ad content generation.
• Optimize and scale high-performance, large-volume systems to reliably handle massive datasets and ensure high throughput.
• Lead the data collection, model training, evaluation, and deployment of advanced image processing and generation algorithms.
• Analyze system performance and identify opportunities based on data analysis and online experiments.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, end-to-end solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience OR Master’s Degree AND 3+ years related experience OR Doctorate AND 1+ year(s) related experience.
• 4+ years of industry experience with a focus on computer vision, image/video generation and editing.
• Demonstrated leadership or significant contributions to the design, data, and training of advanced AIGC models (e.g., diffusion/AR models and distillation, VAEs).
• Excellent design and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear, implementable solutions.
• Proactive communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across algo, product, and engineer teams.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 6+ years related experience OR Doctorate AND 3+ years related experience.
• 5+ years of industry experience with a focus on computer vision, image/video generation and editing.
