Location: Remote - US. This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, San Jose, CA, or the surrounding areas.

Salary: Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C.: $171,120 - 213,900. Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $181,200 - 226,500. Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $201,280 - 251,600.

What you will do

• Build and own backend product capabilities for Stytch’s identity platform on hirify.global, shipping new API surfaces and core authentication flows.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable distributed services, optimizing for security, latency, and developer experience.
• Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to set direction, translate customer needs into technical plans, and deliver high-impact roadmap features.
• Collaborate across hirify.global and Stytch teams to align on architecture and integrate platform capabilities.
• Operate with deep technical ownership, authoring design docs, driving key technical decisions, and reviewing code.
• Improve production quality and resilience through strong observability, incident response and remediation.

Requirements

• 6+ years experience in designing, building and operating high-scale, mission-critical cloud-based production systems.
• Familiarity with a production-grade codebase in a modern programming language, applying best practice coding standards.
• Experience designing technical services and leading teams through implementation.
• Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related industry experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work non-standard, on-call rotation weekend and holiday hours.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Go, Kubernetes, and DynamoDB.
• Experience building developer tools and/or internal platforms that improve velocity and reliability.
• Experience designing and building highly reliable back-end systems.
