Senior Engineering Manager (Platform)

TL;DR

Senior Engineering Manager (Platform): Leading hirify.global’s Internal Platform Team, focusing on building scalable foundations to enable other teams, removing blockers, and mitigating inefficiencies. Focus on platform and systems engineering, utilizing Python and Golang in a public cloud environment.

Location: Team is located in Helsinki. Hybrid work policy.

What you will do

• Plan the team’s roadmap with product leadership and the team.
• Manage the team’s backlog and projects.
• Support the team’s deliveries to ensure accountability for output and performance.
• Grow the team by hiring excellent engineering talent.
• Offer 1-on-1 coaching and support to team members.
• Facilitate team meetings like plannings, kick-offs, and retrospectives.

Requirements

• At least five years’ hands-on programming experience building platforms and distributed systems, and at least two years’ experience of people leadership.
• Proven track record of leading experienced teams in successful software product deliveries.
• Experience in recruiting engineering talent.
• Fluent communication skills in English, written and verbal.
• Experience building and designing scalable platforms and distributed systems.
• Experience in public cloud infrastructure and networking (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
