What you will do

• Assist in developing and maintaining network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
• Support the configuration and monitoring of security solutions, focusing on Fortinet, CheckPoint, and Cisco technologies.
• Participate in implementing cybersecurity best practices, including patching, vulnerability management, and access control.
• Contribute to infrastructure documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity for operational processes.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on projects involving network upgrades, security enhancements, and system migrations.
• Monitor system performance and respond to alerts, escalating issues as needed.
• Develop skills in automation and scripting to streamline routine tasks and improve efficiency.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching).
• Familiarity with firewall technologies, preferably Fortinet, CheckPoint, and Cisco.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and common threat mitigation techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance at the required level is essential for this role. You must have this clearance in place before you can start.

Nice to have

• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, or Cisco CCNA.
• Exposure to Windows and Linux server environments.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and basic scripting.
