Software Engineer II (AI)

TL;DR

Software Engineer II (AI): Responsible for designing and developing distributed software systems to deliver personalized experiences to over 200M daily active users. Focus on scalability, security, and performance to improve service platforms using cutting-edge technologies.

Location: Cairo, Egypt. Must be able to work from the office at least four days per week, if living within a 25-mile commute of the Cairo office location starting January 26, 2026.

What you will do

• Design and develop reliable, scalable, and performant distributed software systems.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and cross-functional partners to deliver impactful features and improvements.
• Write high-quality, maintainable, and testable code; participate in code reviews.
• Identify and resolve production issues; continuously improve system performance and reliability.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications and deliver solutions that meet business goals.
• Proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends to improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet hirify.global, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• OR Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Experience with large-scale, high-availability services with a background in reliability, scalability, and performance.
