TL;DR

Federal Sales Account Executive (Cybersecurity): Driving revenue growth and expanding market presence within federal government agencies, especially the Department of Defense sector, with an accent on federal procurement, established network, and strategic deal closure. Focus on identifying high-potential agencies, building robust sales pipelines, and leading persuasive proposals.

Location: DC Metro area required. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring 3 days onsite and 2 days remote weekly.

What you will do

  • Identify high-potential agencies and opportunities for business expansion.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with federal-focused VARs, distributors, and FSIs.
  • Stay up to date on federal procurement policies, market dynamics, and competitive trends.
  • Lead the development and timely submission of persuasive proposals, bids, and RFP responses.
  • Consistently achieve and surpass federal sales revenue targets.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, product, and customer support teams on federal sales initiatives.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of federal sales experience within DoD, Intel, or FSI sectors, focused on cybersecurity software solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated history of surpassing federal sector sales targets.
  • Expertise in sales methodologies and forecasting approaches (e.g., MEDDPICC).
  • Deep understanding of federal procurement, contract vehicles, and compliance requirements.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Nice to have

  • Skilled in CRM platforms and sales analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory and/or Azure Entra ID.
  • Experience in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Successful track record as an early member of a federal sales team at a growing startup.
  • Active security clearance is preferred but not mandatory.
