Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

TL;DR

Security Engineer (Cybersecurity): Joining the security operations team to build foundational systems and services for threat detection and response, ensuring the infrastructure is free from malicious actors. Focus on building scalable security monitoring infrastructure, developing detection strategies, and improving detection rules by collaborating with engineering teams.

Location: Must be US Citizen. Candidates who reside within 45 miles of one of our offices will follow our hybrid work model. This includes working onsite three days per week and remotely the remaining days.

What you will do

• Collaborate with different teams to build pipelines for gathering relevant security telemetry.
• Build and maintain a scalable security monitoring infrastructure solution.
• Develop detection strategies to identify anomalous activity.
• Triage alerts and drive security incidents to closure.
• Research new threat attack vectors and improve detection and response capabilities.
• Collaborate with the compliance team to maintain and audit security controls and processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong domain knowledge in security incident detection and response.
• Demonstrated experience with effective incident response and containment practices.
• Hands-on experience in instrumenting and deploying telemetry solutions.
• Experience with SIEM and SOAR platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, SolarWinds, and Trellix.
• Ability to script or code fluently in Python, PowerShell, or Javascript.

Nice to have

• Experience or strong familiarity with DevOps practices and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with cloud deployments in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
