Principal Cloud Engineer (AWS Infrastructure & Solutions)

TL;DR

Principal AWS Cloud Engineer: Designing, building, and optimizing secure and scalable AWS cloud solutions, with an accent on enterprise architecture and healthcare compliance. Focus on automation, disaster recovery, and implementing security-by-design principles using AWS Identity & Access Management (IAM), VPC security, KMS encryption, and private networking.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize AWS infrastructure to meet high availability, performance, and security requirements.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CDK.
• Architect hybrid cloud and multi-region environments that integrate seamlessly with on-prem systems.
• Develop and implement monitoring, alerting, and logging strategies.
• Ensure robust disaster recovery, backup, and failover capabilities.
• Implement performance tuning and cost optimization measures across AWS workloads.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7+ years in cloud engineering, infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering.
• Expert-level AWS skills across core services.
• Proven experience designing and deploying mission-critical workloads in regulated industries; healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong automation experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.

Nice to have

• Container orchestration expertise (EKS, ECS, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7).
• Experience with serverless architectures and event-driven design.
• Familiarity with AWS cost governance tools and optimization techniques.
