What you will do

• Deliver quality software as an integral part of an extension team for News UK's mobile application.
• Interact with product owners and stakeholders, contributing to technical conversations and ensuring best-in-class solutions.
• Report to a Principal Engineer, assisting with technical strategy and tactical implementation.
• Influence technical direction, coding standards, and best practices.
• Mentor peers and team members, providing technical expertise and participating in strategic discussions.
• Present engineering work to internal teams and external audiences.

Requirements

• Native iOS application development experience with both modern and legacy systems.
• Solid commercial iOS development using Swift.
• Strong experience with SwiftUI for modern UI development.
• Experience with RxSwift for reactive programming and asynchronous operations.
• Experience maintaining and refactoring legacy UIKit-based systems.
• Understanding of modern (MVVM, MVI) and legacy (MVP) architecture patterns.
• Firm grasp of object-oriented software development and tiered design.
• Ability to deliver solutions with iOS UI/UX principles in mind.
• Quality-led approach to development (UI/Unit Testing).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
• Experience with mobile development issues related to performance optimisation, caching, security, and native components/SDKs.
