Legal Counsel (Privacy)

TL;DR

Legal Counsel (Privacy): Advising on new and evolving regulatory obligations related to AI, data protection, digital services, cybersecurity, and e-commerce with an accent on monitoring implementation, reviewing legal documents, and conducting data protection impact assessments. Focus on providing critical legal support across regulatory matters and ensuring compliance for products and processing activities within a fast-moving AI space.

Location: Hybrid in London, UK (team members coming into the office twice a week)

What you will do

• Monitor and advise the business on new and evolving regulatory obligations (AI regulation, digital services, cybersecurity, e-commerce).
• Advise on the implementation of new and existing regulatory requirements affecting products and processing activities.
• Support GtM and Governmental Affairs teams, including responding to consultations and reviewing vendor data processing agreements (DPAs).
• Develop internal memos and training materials on regulatory requirements and data protection; conduct LIAs and DPIAs.
• Support the team in responding to data subject requests (DSARs).
• Handle administrative tasks, organize documents, oversee deadlines, and assist in audits as required.

Requirements

• Fully qualified lawyer (e.g., German State Exam or qualified in England and Wales).
• At least two years of relevant in-house legal experience (preferably in a tech company).
• Strong interest and familiarity with regulatory affairs, data protection, and AI topics (GDPR, AI Regulation).
• Strong analytical, research, and organizational skills with attention to detail, especially under time pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Collaborative, proactive work style, and willingness to adapt to a fast-changing environment.

Nice to have

• First experience using AI tools and systems to improve legal support efficiency.
