Devops Engineer (Medtech)

TL;DR

Devops Engineer (Medtech): Supporting the transition to containerized workloads and optimizing Kubernetes-based cloud infrastructure for medical device companies, helping them get their products to market faster with an accent on infrastructure-as-code and smooth orchestration through to production. Focus on designing reusable infrastructure components and optimizing CI/CD build process.

Location: Vienna, Austria, Hybrid (office days: Mon, Wed, Fri / home office: Tue, Thu). Ideally you will be currently located in Vienna or able to relocate quickly. Unfortunately, we are unable to support non-EU citizens for the position at this time.

Salary: €90,000 (gross annual salary starts at). Plus performance-based bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Design and build reusable infrastructure components that enable engineers to develop, deploy, and operate services autonomously.
• Build and scale robust continuous delivery platforms encompassing build pipelines, automated testing, deployment processes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain and continually enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of server infrastructure.
• Promptly address operational issues and manage service disruptions to minimize business impact.
• Promote code quality best practices and create actionable guidelines to support engineering teams in maintaining high development standards.
• Improve developer workflows through tool evaluation, process automation, and optimization of development environments and deployment systems.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the DevOps or related engineering fields (e.g., Site Reliability Engineer, Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer).
• Proficiency in configuring and maintaining AWS infrastructure such as EC2, VPC, EKS, IAM, RDS.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar platforms.
• Expertise in using IaC tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to automate and manage cloud environments.
• Ability to drive and support hirify.global transition to containerized workloads across all applications and services.
• Ability to work effectively with developers, sales teams, sales engineers, and client operations to address any technical questions or requirements.

Nice to have

• Previous experience managing and optimizing databases, particularly PostgreSQL, is a strong asset.
• Industry certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, AWS DevOps Professional, or equivalent cloud platform credentials are a plus.
• Demonstrated experience thriving in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and rapid organizational growth.
