What you will do
- Provide technical support to customers, translate complex concepts into clear guidance, and manage cases from beginning to end.
- Troubleshoot and optimize PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB performance issues, including query analysis and implementing features like hypertables and continuous aggregates.
- Investigate issues across the full stack, from application layer to database internals, and integrate/troubleshoot platform features.
- Support internal teams, partner with Engineering to identify root causes, and enable faster resolution through knowledge sharing.
- Use AI to accelerate work, contribute to platform improvements, and stay current with PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, and cloud technology advancements.
- Document knowledge to support team sharing and growth.
Requirements
- Strong PostgreSQL knowledge, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plans.
- Proficiency in CLI and SQL expertise (complex queries, window functions, CTEs, PL/pgSQL).
- Experience with performance analysis, reading logs, metrics, and identifying bottlenecks.
- Background in customer-facing technical roles.
- Curiosity or experience with AI in databases.
- Ability to learn quickly across diverse technical domains.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts clearly.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS/Azure services and cloud architecture.
- Understanding of Kubernetes (container orchestration, pods, services, resource management).
- Browser DevTools debugging for frontend and API issues.
