What you will do

• Build and manage engineering teams, guiding feature, service, and infrastructure development.
• Coach direct reports and support their career growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate vision into a quarterly roadmap.
• Provide thoughtful technical guidance, aiding architectural decisions and fostering high-quality engineering.
• Partner with talent acquisition to identify and recruit exceptional engineers.
• Contribute to and take ownership of processes driving engineering quality and meeting SLAs.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 5 years of engineering management experience, including 2+ years managing other managers.
• Strong understanding of high-quality code and software engineering processes.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and balance long-term thinking with short-term planning.
• Experience creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Ability to be hands-on when needed (writing/reviewing code, technical documents, on-call, troubleshooting).
• Passion for building an open financial system.
