Location: Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties). Relocation assistance may be available. The Hiring Manager would prefer the candidate to be onsite 2-3 days per week.

Salary: $304,000–$340,000 (US base salary only).

What you will do

• Partner with engineering and compliance teams on privacy-enhancing systems, vendor due diligence, and incident response.
• Provide pragmatic, globally-oriented advice to minimize legal risks and advance business goals.
• Collaborate to develop and enforce hirify.global’s data security policies and practices.
• Ensure global data processing complies with GDPR and other applicable privacy laws.
• Act as an expert on privacy issues, including ML development.
• Lead internal projects, process development, and training.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California Bar or eligible to register as in-house counsel with the California Bar.
• 9+ years of in-house experience at a technology company, with law firm experience preferred.
• Ability to understand complex infrastructure and translate legal requirements into actionable advice.
• Demonstrated expertise with global privacy laws, including GDPR and US state/federal privacy laws.
• Experience advising on ad tech products, minor protection, and ML development.
