What you will do

• Create social media content that engages prospective audiences in line with news values.
• Write and edit copy, adapting images and multimedia for social media platforms.
• Edit and select content for Apple News+.
• Extract editorial insights from data, with a strong understanding of platform-specific metrics.
• Champion the use of social media across the newsroom and mentor journalists.
• Represent team's priorities and ambitions at news conferences.

Requirements

• Journalist with strong news judgment.
• Deep knowledge of social media trends and emerging platforms.
• Video editing proficiency is strongly valued.
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Able to clearly articulate story ideas and speak confidently in large groups.
• Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• This is a shift-based role, with work on a rota that includes weekends, mornings and evenings.
