Mobile Engineer (Android)

Location: This position offers a hybrid work model from our Vancouver, BC office, with remote work also considered. Must be based in Canada.

Salary: $150,000–$207,570

What you will do

• Build, ship, and maintain Android product features that enhance customer experience.
• Contribute to mobile architecture and platform improvements, participating in technical discussions.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate performant APIs and provide design feedback.
• Partner with Product and UX to deliver thoughtful, accessible, and polished user interfaces.
• Uphold engineering best practices through code reviews and maintaining readable code.
• Own execution for projects, including task breakdown, risk surfacing, incremental delivery, and writing unit/UI tests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficiency in Kotlin and modern Android development, including Coroutines/Flow.
• Practical experience with Android app architectures (e.g., MVVM, MVI, MVP, Clean Architecture) and Jetpack components.
• Solid understanding of Android UI (XML layouts and Jetpack Compose) for responsive, accessible, and performant screens.
• Working knowledge of software engineering best practices across the SDLC, Git workflows, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• 3+ years of industry experience building, shipping, and maintaining Android applications at scale.
• English: B2 required.

• Interest in or exposure to security/privacy considerations in consumer apps.
• Fintech industry experience.
• Familiarity with iOS or cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Kotlin Multiplatform).
