What you will do
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of backend engineers.
- Provide technical direction and people leadership for systems controlling Dutch energy assets.
- Shape architectural strategy and make strategic technical decisions.
- Oversee people development, hiring, and 1-to-1s.
- Partner with product managers to deliver impactful solutions.
- Champion observability, metrics, and monitoring.
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in an engineering management role.
- Strong background in .NET/C# and building high-performance backend systems.
- Proficiency in Azure and cloud-native architecture patterns.
- Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and modern DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
- Experience working with messaging technologies (Kafka, Event Hubs, RabbitMQ).
- Proven leadership skills in team building, mentorship, and architectural decision-making.
