Location: hirify.global - Rotterdam. Hybrid working: Work 40% at the office, 40% from home, and 20% flexibly. With manager approval, you may work abroad (within approved countries) up to 3 weeks/year, max 2 consecutively.

Salary: Gross annual salary between €95.000 and €140.000

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of backend engineers.
• Provide technical direction and people leadership for systems controlling Dutch energy assets.
• Shape architectural strategy and make strategic technical decisions.
• Oversee people development, hiring, and 1-to-1s.
• Partner with product managers to deliver impactful solutions.
• Champion observability, metrics, and monitoring.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience with at least 3 years in an engineering management role.
• Strong background in .NET/C# and building high-performance backend systems.
• Proficiency in Azure and cloud-native architecture patterns.
• Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform), and modern DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cosmos DB).
• Experience working with messaging technologies (Kafka, Event Hubs, RabbitMQ).
• Proven leadership skills in team building, mentorship, and architectural decision-making.
