Business Development Consultant (Fintech)

TL;DR

Business Development Consultant (Fintech): Identifying and qualifying opportunities for Engine's SaaS technology platform within banks and financial institutions, with an accent on fostering relationships with implementation partners and senior bank executives. Focus on understanding client needs, managing commercial conversations, and contributing to marketing activities to drive Engine's growth.

Location: Must be located within a commutable distance of Sydney. Travel (including international) may be necessary depending on the client and nature of the engagement.

What you will do

• Support early-stage conversations, run client workshops and demos to identify opportunities.
• Contribute to marketing activities and conferences to elevate awareness of Engine’s brand.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with implementation partners.
• Take ownership of strategic opportunities, acting as the client’s advocate.
• Manage commercial and contractual conversations.
• Work with client solutions teams through the Discovery and Delivery phases, providing client relationship and commercial support.

Requirements

• Experience working in a reputable consulting organization with experience across several banks and situations.
• Experience in financial services (ideally retail or business banking) with an understanding of issues and challenges in relation to bank IT systems and projects.
• Inquisitive with strong analytical skills.
• Technical aptitude and curiosity.
• Confidence to ask insightful questions and engage in conversation with senior bank executives.
• Ability to be self-motivated in a highly autonomous environment and in a collaborative team with a flat structure.

Hiring process

• Initial video interview with someone from the BD / Delivery team.
• More in-depth interview with some more of the team including Regional Director, ideally in our Sydney office.
• Final Interview with Chief Commercial Officer.
