TL;DR

Senior / Lead Character Artist (Game Art): Leading and creating stunning, realistic characters and military equipment for an immersive tactical FPS game with an accent on hyper-realism and technical aspects of character creation. Focus on sculpting, modeling, UV & texturing, and optimizing characters for Unreal Engine 5.

Location: This is an on-site position in Brno, Czech Republic. Willingness to move to Brno, Czech Republic is required. Eligibility to work in the European Union is also required.

What you will do

  • Lead and guide the team to create stunning, realistic characters for Gray Zone Warfare.
  • Sculpt/model, UV & texture, high & low polygon meshes in a PBR pipeline.
  • Work closely with the Game Director and Art Director, applying and giving constructive feedback.
  • Render, pose, compose, and present characters for promotional materials.
  • Cooperate with the Concept Art and Animation teams, maintaining a high-quality character art pipeline.
  • Effectively plan and prepare documentation and pipelines for colleagues or outsource studios.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a Character Artist in game development, with at least one AAA title shipped at a Senior or Lead position, preferably on Unreal Editor 4 or higher.
  • Excellence in all aspects of Character modeling and texturing (Heads, Hair, Clothing, Gear, able to achieve hyper-realism for all Genders, Ages, Races, Muscular, even Psychologic human types).
  • Strong knowledge of the technical aspects of character creation for FPS and open-world games, including modular character planning, blendshape preparation, facial animation pipelines, skinning, and game character optimization.
  • Expert knowledge of Unreal Editor, such as Material Graph Editor, Authoring for Unreal, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of industry-standard software applications, including ZBrush, 3ds Max, Maya, Adobe Substance Package, and Photoshop.
  • Exceptional texturing skills in Substance Painter and/or Photoshop and PBR workflow.
