What you will do

  • Partner with business leaders to shape culture, enable leaders, and drive people strategies for growth and high performance across APAC.
  • Coach leaders for impact, build their capabilities, and drive accountability in performance, reward, and recognition.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex people matters, including underperformance, complaints, disputes, and visa requirements across multiple markets.
  • Anticipate business shifts, identify risks, and shape workforce strategy and planning.
  • Own the engagement and experience narrative for the APAC office, fostering belonging and alignment.
  • Lead and coach direct reports in AU to deliver seamless engagement initiatives and key people programs at scale.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a strategic HR Manager or People Business Partner role within a high-performance environment (e.g., tech, high-growth startup, or consulting)
  • Strong understanding of AU employment law and HR compliance.
  • Experience managing direct reports and supporting people leaders across functions.
  • Proficient in tracking and interpreting people metrics to inform decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills, including leading initiatives across the employee lifecycle.
  • Commercially minded, strategic, collaborative, and adaptable to fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Japanese legislation.
