TL;DR

Experienced Character Artist (Game Art): Conceptualizing, modeling, and texturing characters for published games with an accent on clean geometry, material work, and storytelling. Focus on utilizing Maya, Zbrush, and Unreal Engine to create high-quality, expressive characters.

Location: Onsite in London, United Kingdom. Must be based in the UK for this 12-month fixed-term contract.

What you will do

• Utilise your experience in conceptualising, modelling, and texturing characters.
• Tell stories through beautifully crafted characters.
• Provide examples of beautifully constructed characters with clean geometry, texture, and material work.
• Work as part of the Character Art team.

Requirements

• Showcase creative flare as well as displaying core fundamentals such as solid topology, UVs, and texturing.
• Deep understanding and knowledge in Maya and Zbrush, plus a proven foundation in Photoshop.
• Display a folio with a wide range of examples demonstrating flexibility and a good eye for form, shape, and composition.
• A number of years’ experience as a Character Artist in the industry with at least one published game.
• Must be based in the UK for onsite work.

Nice to have

• Good working knowledge of Unreal 4/5.
• Experience using Marvelous Designer and/or scan development pipelines.
• Experience with Substance Painter.
• Experience with facial blendshapes and wrinkle maps.
• Hair authoring experience (full strand-based and hair cards).
• Good knowledge of anatomy.
• MetaHuman knowledge.
• Examples of hard surface work.
