Sr Software Engineer (Distributed File Systems, C/C++)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (C/C++/Distributed File Systems): Building and optimizing solutions for ONTAP Distributed File Systems and data management, focusing on meeting customer needs across engineered systems and cloud services. Location: Hybrid in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, United States. Most roles will have some level of in-office and/or in-person expectations.

Salary: $187,000–$278,300 USD OTE (On Target Earnings).

What you will do

• Deliver solutions for ONTAP, focusing on WAFL filesystem, FlexGroup distributed filesystem I/O, and data management features.
• Enhance existing products and develop new products within the Core Software and Data Management team.
• Lead mid to large cross-functional projects.
• Engage in technical discussions and support development and testing activities.
• Participate in all product development phases: definition, design, implementation, testing, and support.

Requirements

• Excellent C/C++ coding skills.
• Experience with System/Kernel programming, Filesystems, Networking, or file/cloud protocols.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, data structures, and programming practice.
• Minimum of 8-12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree (or 6 years with a Master’s degree, or 3 years with a PhD).
• Proven leadership in mid to large projects.
• English: B2+ required.

Nice to have

• Python experience.
• Distributed systems and coherent caching design and implementation experience.
