TL;DR

Head of Engineering: Driving technology and engineering delivery across the Individual Customer Savings Lab with an accent on strategic vision, team mobilisation, and operational management. Focus on optimising the operating model, shaping the product backlog, and creating a data-driven organisation.

Location: Hybrid, requiring at least two days per week (40% of time) at our Leeds or Bristol office location.

Salary: £124,653–£146,650

What you will do

• Drive high standards of technology and engineering delivery across the Lab and Investment Platform.
• Jointly own, develop, and be accountable for Lab strategic and quarterly OKRs.
• Optimise, evolve, and deliver an efficient operating model.
• Support shaping the backlog and prioritising outcomes for product health.
• Create a data-driven organisation providing value propositions to customers.
• Define the 'What' and 'Why' of team delivery, and 'How' through engineering solutions and agile ways of working.

Requirements

• Visionary leader and advocate for digital transformation.
• Passion for team development and colleague growth in new technologies and ways of working.
• Extensive experience and technical engineering knowledge across a broad range of platforms, including public cloud.
• Ability to adapt approach and deep understanding of multiple engineering & software design solutions (technology agnostic).
• Experienced in Software Engineering leadership, oversight, technical, and people leadership across multiple teams.
• Extensive hands-on Software Engineering experience, including Test Driven Development, Event Driven, and/or Cloud Native Architectures.
• Experience in fullstack development with demonstrable knowledge in React, Microservices, APIs, Databases, and Observability.
