Location: Redmond, United States. Starting January 26, 2026, employees within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. are expected to work from the office at least four days per week.

Salary: USD $139,900 – $274,800 per year (U.S. national average). For the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area: USD $188,000 – $304,200 per year.

What you will do

• Create, implement, and maintain design systems that enable multiple design teams to ship world-class AI-powered experiences.
• Stay aware of new technological innovations within front-end development, design systems, and AI, integrating them into products and design practices.
• Collaborate with other product leaders to manage the end-to-end product development process, maintaining accountability for user experience quality.
• Exhibit cross-functional communication and dependency management, scoping, and scheduling.
• Partner with product teams to define goals and performance indicators, setting up experiments and evaluating effectiveness with data and research.
• Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and sales.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, HCI, UX, or Interaction Design AND 6+ years experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design.
• A portfolio demonstrating experience designing world-class consumer products from vision through launch.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and maintaining robust Design Systems for a portfolio of products.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, HCI, UX, or Interaction Design AND 8+ years experience OR Bachelor’s Degree in a related field AND 12+ years experience.
• Prototype-level engineering experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript or Python.
• Proven track record of setting design vision for innovative products that require bold thinking and risk-taking.
• Design Systems experience in a complex, large-scale environment.
• Ability to translate vision into well-polished design prototypes.
