Location: Redmond, WA or Mountain View, CA, United States. This position requires in-office work 4 days per week starting January 2026 for employees living within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. On-site work is preferred.

Salary: USD $100,600 – $199,000 per year (up to $215,400 for specific locations like San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area).

What you will do

• Deliver end-to-end features for Copilot and Bing across backend and frontend systems.
• Build modern C#-based service layers, high-performance distributed systems, and implement prompt engineering.
• Develop beautiful, responsive user experiences using server-side and client-side frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define user requirements and contribute to design documents.
• Create and implement code for products, services, or features, while ensuring consistency and scalability.
• Participate in on-call rotations to monitor and maintain system/product reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience.
• Proficiency in coding with languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• Must be based in the United States and commute to a Microsoft office in Redmond, WA or Mountain View, CA 4 days a week (effective January 2026).
• English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 4+ years of technical engineering experience.
• Experience with React or similar modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience with native mobile application development (iOS with Swift and/or Android with Kotlin).
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, large language models, or prompt engineering.
