Senior Software Engineer (Backend): Designing and developing key platform services for the Finance Platform team with an accent on JVM programming languages and event-driven architecture. Focus on breaking down complex problems into elegant designs, creating high-quality code, and collaborating on features that impact community members' financial flexibility.

Location: Hybrid in Mexico City, Mexico, with a remote arrangement also possible.

What you will do

• Drive the design and implementation of new features, translating complex problems into elegant designs and high-quality code.
• Make a meaningful impact on the financial lives of community members.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other engineering teams integrating with the Finance Platform.
• Ensure the production of high-quality, efficient designs and code.
• Continuously learn about new technologies and industry standards.

Requirements

• 4+ years of development experience in Software Engineering.
• Proficiency in at least one JVM programming language, such as Java or Kotlin.
• Experience with a major framework like Spring or Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases (Postgres or MySQL) and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Hands-on experience with data technologies such as Kafka, AWS SNS/SQS, or AWS Kinesis.
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools, and developing functional and integration tests.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience with Kubernetes and microservice architecture.
