TL;DR

Backend Tech Lead (PHP): Building and scaling high-impact health tech services for a global wellness marketplace with an accent on API design, robust infrastructure, and system reliability. Focus on providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and driving improvements in engineering processes and architectural decisions.

Location: Based in Vilnius (4 days onsite, 1 flexible remote day) or Kaunas/Klaipėda/Riga (onsite, hybrid, or remote options available depending on role).

Salary: 5500–6500 EUR/month

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate health tech services used by millions of customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend, mobile engineers, product managers, and UX designers.
• Provide technical leadership, set engineering best practices, and guide architectural decisions.
• Mentor and support other engineers in their technical and soft skills growth.
• Take ownership of system reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Drive improvements in engineering processes, coding standards, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of experience with PHP and Laravel (Symfony also acceptable).
• Proven experience leading or influencing technical decisions.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Solid understanding of OOP fundamentals and design patterns.
• Great English skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in Cloud Infrastructure.
• TDD experience.
