IC Design Engineer (ASIC)

TL;DR

IC Design Engineer (ASIC): Oversees definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development with an accent on architecture design, logic design, and system simulation. Focus on the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits, evaluating all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.

Location: Onsite in San Jose, USA

Salary: $120,000–$192,000 annually

What you will do

• Work as part of a physical design team implementing chips from netlist to GDSii.
• Responsible for floorplanning, design partition, and block pin assignment.
• Perform blocks PnR, timing closure, and physical verification.
• Perform blocks IR/EM analysis.
• Write scripts to automate physical design flow and make it more efficient.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience or Master's degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Good understanding of technology elements and design flow in all stages.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, and Python.
• Good knowledge of physical verification using Mentor’s Calibre tool.
• Work onsite in San Jose, USA.

Nice to have

• Experience with chip-level IR/EM analysis.
• Expertise in low power IC design.
