What you will do

• Own and evolve internal developer platforms and toolchains to enable product teams to self-serve common needs.
• Drive adoption of modern productivity tools including GenAI integrations to improve developer experience.
• Implement automated quality gates, approval workflows, and policy-as-code for compliance and auditability.
• Standardize agile squad structures, ways of working, and definitions of done across product teams.
• Define and standardize delivery metrics and reporting to identify bottlenecks and measure improvements.
• Act as senior advocate for developer experience, collaborating with stakeholders and mentoring direct reports.

Requirements

• Location: Hybrid role based in Manchester, UK with initial full-time office period
• Proven leadership experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or developer experience functions at scale.
• Hands-on experience with developer portals (e.g., Backstage), CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps automation.
• Experience defining SDLC policies and translating controls into automated tooling for compliance.
• Strong background in standardizing agile ways of working and governance across multiple product teams.
• Data-driven mindset using delivery and productivity metrics to drive measurable improvements.
