Data Engineer

TL;DR

Data Engineer (Tech Foundations): Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytics platforms supporting identity management, authentication, and security across a global ecosystem with an accent on cloud-native tools and data quality. Focus on optimizing ELT/ETL workflows, data modeling in BigQuery, and implementing privacy and security best practices.

Location: Hybrid in Berlin, Germany with 2 days onsite per week. Relocation support to Berlin available.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines for identity and access management use cases.
• Develop and optimize ELT/ETL workflows using Apache Airflow.
• Model, transform, and optimize large-scale datasets in Google BigQuery for analytics and operational reporting.
• Ensure data quality, observability, and reliability through monitoring, alerting, and automated testing.
• Collaborate with Security, IAM, Product, and Analytics teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
• Implement privacy-by-design and security best practices in all data workflows.

Requirements

• 4+ years experience as Data Engineer or similar in cloud environments.
• Strong experience with GCP data services, especially BigQuery and Cloud Storage.
• Proven skills with Apache Airflow and complex data modeling.
• Strong Python skills including Pandas, PySpark, Apache Beam, and testing frameworks.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Looker Studio preferred.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security principles.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity, authentication, security, or compliance data.
• Familiarity with GCP streaming services and AWS data services.
• Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.
• Exposure to fraud detection, risk analytics, or security monitoring systems.
