What you will do

• Lead and strategically direct the Data Engineering team, translating business needs into technical strategy.
• Define and own the technical direction and architecture for the data function, leading system design activities.
• Oversee data ingestion, enrichment, transformation, and distribution systems within the data lake.
• Implement strong data management, governance practices, and optimize Spark jobs and pipelines in Databricks.
• Mentor engineers, build a high-performing culture, and ensure system quality, scalability, and maintainability.

Requirements

• Proven track record of success in highly dynamic, fast-paced environments.
• Expert understanding of Data pipeline design and implementation using Databricks and Python (or PySpark).
• Expert visualization skills using Sisense and/or other tools, and expert SQL skills.
• Expert understanding of Data management and/or Data governance principles.
• Experience with modern cloud-based Data Engineering on AWS or other cloud platforms.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kedro on Databricks or designing and implementing Data mesh.
• Exposure to Airbyte reading from multiple different data sources.
• Good understanding of microservices architecture principles.
