TL;DR

Domain Architect (Architecture): Lead the evolution of platform architecture by defining domain boundaries, integration strategies, and modernization of systems with an accent on scalability, velocity, and technical excellence. Focus on designing distributed systems, domain-driven design, and bridging product and engineering for sustainable growth.

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States with hybrid work format; must be based in the United States.

Salary: $200,000 - $230,000 OTE

What you will do

  • Evaluate and define target-state domain architecture and integration strategies across multiple products.
  • Decompose monolithic applications into domain-based services using domain-driven design principles.
  • Architect core platform services shared across web and mobile products.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and engineering leadership.
  • Introduce observability, monitoring, and CI/CD standards to support secure, high-quality releases.
  • Provide mentorship and architectural guidance to engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the United States with ability to work hybrid in Chicago or other office locations.
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with 3+ years in senior or principal architecture roles.
  • Expertise in domain-driven design, service decomposition, and event-driven patterns.
  • Strong AWS architecture and infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems incrementally and designing distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
