What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, Databricks, and PySpark on Azure.
• Develop backend components with Java (Spring or Quarkus) and automate infrastructure using Bicep and CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage containerized workloads with Kubernetes and orchestrate workflows with Airflow.
• Integrate event-driven solutions using Kafka and ensure secure, high-performance data processing.
• Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum team and communicate technical concepts to stakeholders.
• Own full lifecycle of data engineering solutions from design to production support.

Requirements

• Must be located onsite in Amstelveen, Netherlands.
• BSc or MSc in IT, Computer Science, or related field with several years of data engineering experience.
• Strong skills in Python (3.11+), Databricks, Azure services, SQL, Java (17+), and Infrastructure as Code (Bicep).
• Experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, Airflow, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred).
• Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming, design patterns, and cloud-native architectures.
• English proficiency at least B2 level.

Nice to have

• Experience with advanced Azure security hardening.
• Knowledge of microservices and financial risk systems or IFRS9 processes.
