Software Engineer (Backend): Developing the STACKIT API Platform focusing on secure API publishing and consumption with an accent on rate limiting, authentication, quota enforcement, and monitoring. Focus on designing scalable, resilient distributed systems and improving software architecture.

Location: Onsite in Barcelona, Spain

What you will do

Build and maintain the STACKIT API Platform enabling secure API consumption and publishing.
Design and improve software architecture focusing on availability, resilience, scalability, and performance.
Act as a technical sparring partner through code reviews and architectural evaluations.
Implement secure, tested code and maintain existing software stack.
Automate operational tasks to ensure efficient software scaling.

Requirements

Onsite presence in Barcelona, Spain is required.
Experience in backend development, preferably with Go, Java, or Kotlin.
Knowledge of distributed system architecture and working with REST and gRPC.
Experience with service meshes and API proxies like Envoy.
Team player with knowledge sharing and collaboration skills.
English proficiency at least B2 level.
