What you will do

• Contribute to defining and improving system architecture, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and security.
• Apply Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to model complex financial and blockchain-related business domains.
• Drive backend performance by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing database queries and schema design for speed and scalability.
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and actively participating in code reviews.
• Develop and maintain secure, reliable RESTful APIs and integration points.
• Mentor and coach engineers on best practices in Go, DDD, and scalable system design.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Backend Engineer, specifically developing and deploying high-scale, reliable services (ideally in Fintech, Payments, or high-throughput systems) and managing teams.
• Expert proficiency in Go and TS.
• Strong practical understanding and application of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
• Familiarity with the Web3/Blockchain/DeFi space, particularly concepts related to self-custody or on-chain transaction processing.
• Must work remotely from Portugal or Germany.

• Experience in guiding or executing significant backend refactoring/migration projects between programming languages.
