What you will do

• Lead a team of engineers building backend systems for large-scale, real-time mobile games.
• Develop and optimize production-grade Java services with a focus on performance tuning.
• Build and enhance large-scale data processing pipelines using Apache Spark and OLAP technologies.
• Address complex technical challenges involving real-time interaction and persistent shared worlds.
• Collaborate with legal teams to ensure data compliance with Chinese regulations.

Requirements

• Must be located in Shanghai, China and work onsite (5 days a week)
• Proficiency in Java and experience building production-grade backend services
• Hands-on experience with Apache Spark and major OLAP technologies (ClickHouse, StarRocks, MaxCompute, Presto)
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning and modern development best practices
• Familiarity with Chinese data compliance regulations and ability to work with legal teams

Nice to have

• Experience with columnar database internals
• Knowledge of Apache Beam, Kubernetes, and Airflow
