TL;DR

Technical Support Engineer (HRTech): Delivering deep diagnostics and driving platform stability through engineering collaboration with an accent on IT systems, backend development, and technical infrastructure. Focus on owning mission-critical incidents, acting as a technical consultant, and shaping scalable, proactive support strategies.

Location: Hybrid position in Midtown Manhattan, New York, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

Salary: $98,000–$145,000 per year

What you will do

  • Serve as the final escalation point for highly complex or sensitive customer issues.
  • Investigate system infrastructure thoroughly using SQL, API calls, and backend tools for root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate directly with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to triage bugs and offer architectural insights.
  • Lead and contribute to technical support initiatives, including workflow automation and diagnostic tooling.
  • Mentor Tier 1 and 2 teams, sharing domain knowledge and contributing to internal documentation.
  • Manage and troubleshoot custom integrations, webhooks, and APIs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in technical support roles with B2B SaaS applications.
  • Advanced experience with SQL, REST APIs, JSON, and diagnostic platforms like Postman and Datadog.
  • Must be able to pass a technical assignment and present your findings to a panel.
  • Proven ability to thrive under pressure, managing multiple high-impact issues in parallel.
  • Strong assertiveness and communication skills to confidently represent customer needs.
  • Experience resolving high-severity escalations and collaborating effectively with Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams.

Nice to have

  • Experience in payroll systems, HR tech, or compliance-heavy products.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS or scripting experience (e.g., Python, JS) for automating internal tooling.
  • Experience working in high-growth tech startups or environments with rapid scaling.
  • Exposure to AI-based tooling or experience leading proactive support innovations.
