Junior Java Developer (Spring Boot)

TL;DR

Junior Java Developer (Spring Boot): Maintaining and evolving Open Banking connection infrastructure with an accent on API design, performance, and cost targets. Focus on designing REST contracts, coding, testing, and releasing small features end-to-end, and participating in the on-call rota.

Location: Hybrid in Spain with flexibility to work from home or office. Opportunity for 'Nomad Working' up to 30 days per year.

What you will do

• Maintain and evolve hirify.global’s Open Banking connection infrastructure.
• Collaborate with peers to achieve availability, performance, and cost targets end-to-end.
• Own small features end-to-end: design REST contracts, code, test, and release.
• Join the on-call rota with senior backup.
• Grow your software development skills by being a part of a highly-available infrastructure.

Requirements

• 12+ months hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Java 11+
• Understanding of test-driven development using JUnit 5 and Testcontainers.
• Basic knowledge of HTTP and RESTful APIs.

Nice to have

• Experience using Docker to package applications.
• Experience using Kubernetes to deploy applications.
• Experience integrating with an HTTP API.
